Dental specialists complete two to six extra years of training after dental school and usually work on referral from a general dentist, although most accept patients who call directly. Orthodontists straighten teeth with braces and clear aligners; endodontists handle root canals; periodontists treat gum disease and place implants; oral and maxillofacial surgeons extract wisdom teeth, place implants and do jaw surgery, often under IV sedation; prosthodontists rebuild smiles with crowns, bridges and dentures; denture centers focus on full and partial dentures, relines and repairs. Sedation and hospital dentists serve anxious patients and people with special needs, while TMJ and sleep-apnea dentists make oral appliances for jaw pain and snoring.

Great staff, very polite and great experience. We drove Almost 4 hours for my son's appointment and Aiken went above and beyond for us. My son's pain has been minimum, just a little swelling which is normal with the kind of procedure. He is doing pretty good overall. Thanks again to Aiken and their wonderful staff.

Beware of billing process. They make you pay before service and then bill insurance. If you owe more the may not send a bill until months later. If it's sent to the wrong address they will not research or make a phone call. They will just send your account it collections instead. How does a $17 bill turn into $850 with collections?

I went here for a wisdom tooth consultation because Iβve been having pain and headaches related to my wisdom teeth. Unfortunately my experience with Dr. Bakeman was very uncomfortable. When I asked how much it would cost to remove all four wisdom teeth with sedation, he responded by saying, βThatβs what I pay the front desk for,β instead of helping explain the overall cost. The way it was said felt dismissive when I was simply trying to understand what the procedure would cost. During the appointment I was also managing my children while trying to listen. I apologized for the distraction, but Dr. Bakeman repeatedly spoke to me as if I wasnβt understanding what he was explaining. I also felt uncomfortable because he kept looking me up and down while I was sitting in the chair. I paid $115 for the consultation and left feeling uncomfortable and not respected as a patient. I understand doctors are busy, but bedside manner and clear communication matter, especially when someone comes in anxious and in pain. Because of this experience, I chose to seek care elsewhere.

From the consultation to the actual day of surgery, everyone was very kind, pleasant, and patient. My son recently had to have 6 teeth extracted, due to having extra teeth and crowding. As my nerves hit rock bottom thinking about it all, I'm grateful and thankful that all went well and for the expertise and professionalism shown by all. He's recovering wonderfully and I couldn't appreciate AAOFS more. Thanks and Blessings!!

Very pleasant experience, everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. I was able to schedule an appointment for a consult and have the surgery done all within 2 weeks. I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and I experienced no problems. Surprisingly the pain was mild and only lasted the first 2 days. I never had any teeth pulled and this experience was wonderful. I would recommend this dentist based on a great procedure as well as a great environment.
